Colors are everywhere. Wherever you look around, everything is radiating with color. Though we are engulfed in plethora of colors, why do we prefer certain colors over others? Where does these preferences originate?
Apparently, my extra interest in studying colors, led me to learning a lot about colors and the psychology behind them. One such bit of information I read said, researches proposed 3 theories to study about our preferences of colors. They are:
- Biology / Evolution
- Gender Schema Theory
- Ecological Valence Theory
However, color psychology isn’t that simple. People have difference experiences with colors. And those experiences can influence the meaning that they attribute to a color
There are four psychological primary colors – red, blue, yellow and green. They relate respectively to the body, the mind, the emotions and the essential balance between these three. If this interests you, to know more about the color psychology, check out here.
